Scholarship Terms & Conditions

Purpose

Playse Cares is committed to expanding access to youth sports, leadership development, and international experiences. Our scholarship program exists to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent qualified youth athletes and coaches from participating in meaningful opportunities aligned with our mission.

Eligibility

Scholarships are available to individuals who:

Meet the published eligibility requirements for the specific program or experience
Demonstrate financial need, when applicable
Submit a complete application with required documentation
Confirm participation in the approved program or event

Eligibility criteria may vary by scholarship cycle and will be published in advance.

Selection Criteria

Applications are reviewed using objective, nondiscriminatory criteria, which may include:

Demonstrated financial need
Verification of participation
Alignment with program purpose
Commitment and readiness for participation
Availability of scholarship funds

Playse Cares does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or other protected characteristics.

Allocation of Funds

Scholarship awards are discretionary and may be full or partial.

Awards are determined based on:

Total verified funding requests from eligible applicants
The total scholarship funds available for that cycle
Any published maximum award cap per participant

If available funds are sufficient, eligible applicants may receive up to 100% of their approved request (not to exceed the award cap).

If total approved requests exceed available funds, Playse Cares applies a standardized pro-rata allocation formula to ensure equitable distribution among qualified applicants.

All calculations are applied consistently within each scholarship cycle.

Payment of Awards

Scholarship funds are paid directly to approved vendors whenever possible. If reimbursement is required, receipts and documentation must be submitted and approved prior to payment.

Funds may only be used for eligible, verified expenses related to the approved program or experience.

Review & Oversight

All applications are reviewed by the Playse Cares Scholarship Committee.

Committee members must disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from reviewing applications where a personal, financial, or organizational relationship exists.

Final award decisions are documented and maintained in accordance with nonprofit recordkeeping standards.

Organizational Discretion

Playse Cares retains full discretion over scholarship awards. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.

This policy may be updated periodically to ensure continued compliance with nonprofit governance standards and the organization’s charitable mission.
